The encounter with Skull Kid in Majora's Mask is one of my favourite Zelda moments. The first time you face him, you want to win, but you can't. You might face him again the next day or two to no avail. You realize you aren't ready yet and carry on with your adventure, not even bothering to pay him a visit as the end of the world approaches. Other than summoning 2 or 3 giants to stand up to the Skull Kid out of curiosity, the game makes you accept the apocalypse and become apathetic to it, yet you press forward with your ultimate goal patiently waiting in the farthest corner of your mind. It's just an amazing game, end of story.
