I've considered Advance Wars to be among my favourite game series ever since I played it on the GBA. I've sorta had "draw something from Advance Wars" in the back of my mind for quite a while, so the E3 announcement of Advance Wars: Re-Boot Camp on Switch seemed like the perfect excuse to draw Sami. I made her hairstyle based on the new design in Re-Boot Camp and used her Advance Wars 2 artwork as clothing reference. The background is based on typical Advance Wars scenery.
