It feels like it's been forever since I drew something freely and just for fun, so that's how this came to be. I typically try to make very clean line art, but I didn't bother this time! It's also pretty rare for me to draw a head shot. Thing is, head shots (or even drawings including part of the upper body) are so much easier than drawing a full body picture. There's very little to worry about in the way of anatomy, no pose to worry about, few things to detail... It's nice to be lazy and just draw something easy for a change.

I think it was only within the past year I started getting a little more bold with my colour choices. Previously, the colours I'd use for shading were pretty much just darker versions of the main colour, perhaps with a slight hue variance. I dunno, I guess I see people make art with more interesting colours, I like how it looks, and it makes me want to try it out.

Maybe I'll aim to make stuff that's more sketchy and loose like this next time I decide to make some game fan art. There's something very liberating about not spending 6-24 hours drawing something that I can't even 100% call my own.
